Family Health

Keeping track of family health can be a very big burden! Know your foes. Here are a few tips.

-->Be aware of food allergies from the time your children are infants. If the baby develops a rash, has diarrhea, throws up or can't eat something, chances are he isn't being picky, he may be allergic. Check this out:  "Baby Food Allergies," "Parents Magazine on Baby Food Allergies." Note: I'm not being racist, but genetics has a lot to do with food allergies. Italians are often Gluten Intolerant. Africans are often lactose intolerant. Jews have a host of hereditary diseases which include Down's Syndrome, Maple Syrup Urine Disorder, Chronic Fatigue and others that can make certain foods intolerable to the body.

Be aware!!!  "Genetic Clues to Autoimmune Diseases", "Genetic Studies on Autoimmune Diseases"

-->Be aware of early developments in a sickly child. Is your child prone to extra bouts of stomach flu and other viruses? Does he tire out in playing long before any of the other children do? Does he complain that it's hard for him to lift certain things, or bend over? He may have a lower immune system, a characteristic of people with autoimmune diseases like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I've had chronic fatigue since I became very ill at about 7 1/2; but I was only diagnosed since I've been in my twenties. See these articles: "Childhood Autoimmune Diseases", "Symptoms of Childhood Autoimmune Disease".

-->Is your child hard to maintain, because his energy is so abundant that he can't contain himself, but then he tires out very quickly? It's possible he has thyroid problems. Most doctors will not acknowledge children's diseases, but try to look into this.
