Inspiring Examples on the Path of Life--

Below are a number of Bible Study topics I hope might be of help to you.  Everyone has a different philosophy on life. What is yours? The Party Life? The Good Life? Zen Life? Church Life?  According to Jesus Christ, there's only one way to get to Heaven.  "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 14.6  I've found joy and Abundant Life through Him! I hope you have too.

Please also enjoy visiting the David Lee Family's website where you can be inspired and encouraged by deep Biblical study, find beautiful hymns and poetry and be uplifted by good fictional and biographical reading.  If you were encouraged, feel free to make a donation to this independant, small-run ministry.

I'd like to share with you about a few of the people who have encouraged and inspired me to keep going on my path to eternal life.

Gladys Aylward, lone missionary to China and foot inspector (1904-1970)

You'll be inspired too by this little lady's spunk and determination to go to China in the middle of WWII, because she felt called to be God's missionary.  She walked through a Russian wasteland when the train stopped, and spent the night surrounded by wolves, and nearly betrayed into slavery.  She took in over 100 outcast children who called her Mother.  She sheltered entire villages as bombs rained down all around her.  The governor of China (The Mandarin) called her in because he did not feel he had the power to stop a riot in the prison.  She was a testimony of God's power everywhere she went.  You may purchase her autobiograpy here and here.  Another very accurate book can be purchased here: "Chinese Whispers".

Mary, Moses and Patricia St. John, missionaries to Africa (see A Trip to the Fields)

Two missionary nurses and a martyr for the name of Jesus Christ.

William Tyndale, translator of the King James Bible (1494-1536)

This courageous man would not bow to the Catholic Church, as Daniel and his three friends before him, to the idol of King Nebucadnezzar.  At the risk of his own life, he translated, secretly printed, and smuggled hundreds of New Testaments in English all over England, at a time when the only Word of God available had been corrupted by men's teachings and the Latin language.

Silvia Tarniceriu (1951-2013), imprisoned for her faith in the 1970s and 80s in Communist Romania.  She found out when she was a little girl that God was real, contrary to the atheist teachers at school.  Ever since she taught children and adults with joy bubbling through her all about her love of Jesus.  She stayed single all her life.  I personally was able to speak to her over the telephone before she went to be with the Lord, dying of cancer. Her autobiography is available online: God Knows My Size and God Knows My Path. A little bit of her joy can still be yours if you visit her Romanian-English blog: Mamilila's Weblog.

The Russian Stunda, and Georgi Vens, pastor imprisoned for Christ in Soviet Russia during the 1970s

These believers were fearless, and clung to the Bible even when the paper copies were taken away.  The Bible, to them, was their life. It should be ours too.  You can visit the Stunda's website, and enjoy their Bible Studies translated into English: http://rusbaptist.stunda.org/engl/index.htm.  Please also enjoy these stories for young adults about believers in the Soviet Union and read Pastor Vins' powerful books!

Brother Nicolae Moldoveanu (1922-2007), soldier turned hymnist for the persecuted Romanian church during the atheistic rule of Communist Ceausescu.  He wrote over 300 hymns in prison, even though that was the main reason for which he had been imprisoned, and kept the hope of his calling to the end.
